Throughout Pottermore, users can gain badges in four different categories; Collecting, Games, Read About, and Storyline. The badges are earned by fulfilling different criteria.
Collecting:
Galleon
Criteria: Collect 25 Galleons.
Lock-Picker
Criteria: Use the Hairpin to unlock the cupboard in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and collect the chocolate frog card (in CoS, chp 4, mo 4 & CoS, chp 1, mo 1).
Games:
Potions Apprentice
Criteria: Successfully brew three potions in a row.
Charming Dueller
Criteria: Win a duel using each of these four charms: Levitation Charm, Tickling Charm, Disarming Charm & Freezing Charm.
Rematch
Criteria: Lose a duel, have a rematch and win the duel (ensure that you challenge your opponent to a rematch – and win – in the same login session during which they defeated you).
Practical Potion-Maker
Criteria: Successfully brew two different potions from 'Book of Potions' in a row.

Discoverer
Criteria: Discover five pieces of exclusive J.K. Rowling content in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.
Book of Spells
Criteria: Borrow Miranda Goshawk's Book of Spells from the Restricted Section
